But getting a visa is very tough but NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Here are the short cuts-
Avoid going to Madras & Bombay US Embassies, they are very strict here and once they see that u r a doc then they reject ur visa application rt away. (South Indians have to go to MAdras, but if you wait uptill midweek then you will see that all appintments will be full and they will refer u to delhi)
Delhi & Calcutta are the best options. If you go there u will have an 80% chance of getting a visa.
Never apply for an interview on the 1st 3 days of the week, but apply on the last 3 days.
Never tell the embassy people that you have relatives staying in US. ( many believe that a relative in US can sponser their visa's but thats all crap)
During the interview tell them that u have plans to work in australia or middle east. Don't ever tell them that u want to stay back in US, or that u want to come back here (as MLE/residency is not valid here).
Keep this all to yourself. No point in telling everyone Then U will have no advantage.
These are unwritten rules, but even if u follow it to the core, there r chances of ur visa application getting rejected, but my friends how followed it got visa'a100%.

PLAB: PLAB without MRCP is like doing an extended internship. True for Indian standards, one earns more, but you end up spending a lot for food and accomadations there.
Further once u start working then u find it hard to study for MRCP.
After 8 years max, they will boot you out of UK and you will be MBBS in India, without any job or experience ( the only thing Plabees do in UK is the paper work- if any of ur friends have told you that they are treating patients, then its crap)
A better alternative is taking MRCP-1 in INDIA and then taking up PLAB . MRCP-1 exams costs 30000 bucks while IELTS costs 8000 bucks.
KAPLAIN Bangalore has started an MRCP trainig course for 6 months / its costs 20000 bucks. It makes sense to take the course.
Don't take the MAHE -MRCP degree, its IRISH and has no value abroad.

Australia and NewZealand: Working in NZ is the best option. They pay you 1 lakh US dollars to start with ( yearly offcourse) and there are only 276 doctors in NZ to date ( hard to believe but true).
But one has to have an US or UK degree to work here and also they will have to pass their qualifying exams. ( theory & practs)

Middle east: Good to make money and come back. Better if u have some additional degrees.

Mauritius : They pay 40000 bucks (indian) per month for a duty doctor. So there are lot of other ways to go abroad.

Comments Invited...

MBBS to MBA

Hi friends...

What I've learnt in past 3 years of my MBBS is that the efforts put into this field are not worth. Sometimes, I really feel pity on all those who are preparing for P.G. entrance. OKAY good...what after u finish your P.G. ????

I can damn assure that at the most for any P.G. in India you can't get a satisfactory output, of course MONEY is what I am talking about. After that, no doubt to boost the career, all say they'll go for super speciality....again bloody 3 years......what's this damn man !!!

6 years MBBS

1 year P.G. preparation

3 years P.G.

Again 1 year super speciality preparation

3 years super speciality

....And after these frustating 14 years (still excluding the Stupid Bond taken granted for at least 2 years of MO ship in rural areas) you come out to know that your school mate who did Engineering for 4 years with 10 years experience (14-4) is paid as a Software Engineer more than 1.2 lacks per month....!!!

...its all waste guys.Start to think of the most, NOW. One of my relatives who earns 93,000 bucks per month in Wipro, Banglore went to an Endocrinologist....and there he paid, for a consultation, Rs 450 then called me and said "Hey man u Doctors r too much! Just for a consultation they take Rs 450 for just 15 minutes..its bad.." Then I asked him "u studied just 4 years and getting Rs 93,000, He had studied for more than 13 years...Then why not man??" Then he had no answer. See guys even just a well studied man like my relative thinks that Doctors just take simply money. In India no one thinks how much a Doctor worked hard to get to this stage. It has to be believed that they r paid the least. While, you might know, they are paid the most in USA. Guys, 6 years degree (MBBS) does not fetch you more than your friend with 4 year degree (IIT) as here, there is no such "Placement" type of thing for us. This is India friends !!!

Now what can be a charming career option for us is MBA. It might be revealed sooner or later that Medicine needs to be stopped here.

Go for CAT

Get admission in some IIMs

Go for MBA

Early settlement in life

Future is yours

Now even good Pharmacology companies (Dr Reddy Labs, Cipla, Ranbaxy) are offering good money to start with for Doctors who do MBA. Guys, forget 3 years P.G. course, get into 2 years MBA. After all it all matters with settling early in life. Live for yourself before you start living for your Children when you turn 40. That's why most Doctors in India are suffering from depression. Because they are not paid adequately. A recent study (AIIMS) says that the suicidal tendencies are becoming more in Medicos.

OKAY Friends, if I've posted anything wrong Please don't bother. I don't want to hurt any one's Emotional or Prestigious attachment to Medical field.

Comments invited....

My Trip To Pachmarhi With Friends

Hi friends..few days back, I with some of my colleagues planned a trip to Pachmarhi (पच्मढ़ी), a Beautiful Hill Station in MP just to recreate the mood and avoid the nauseating hectic college schedule. May it be the Apsara Vihar (अप्सरा वीहार), The Bee Fall, Dhoopgarh (धूप्गढ़) (highest point of MP), Chauragarh (चौरागढ़) temple, or so many more other places.....everyone was lost in the freshness of nature.....rediscovering the mental peace somewhere inside the innermost of our souls....!!!
I need not to write more because these pics speak themselves about the Aroma of the Fantastic Beauty of Pachmarhi.
(For Pics of my Pachmarhi Trip see my Orkut album or click http://www.orkut.com/Album.aspx?uid=15892240095316822239&aid=1208688156 )
